Goodbye ICU!

Well we are happy to say that they moved Meredith out of the ICU yesterday into another department to monitor her and make sure that she continues to do well. Since she is in a new department, they had her in an isolette but hopefully that will not be for very long. It was hard to see her in it after being able to hold her the last several days. I am still bugging them about breastfeeding her, they continue to tell me that it is not possible yet but maybe soon. We will see, they know this is most important for her health and they prefer mother's milk over the other. The good news for Nolan is that he will finally be able to at least see her through the glass so this will be nice for him to finally be a part of us going to see her. We can only go in one at a time to see her now which is also different because before, both Matt and I were able to go at the same time. The visiting hours have changed from 2-5pm and then again from 7-8pm. We are slowly moving in the right direction and we will let you know if we have any news in the coming days.

YIPPEE!!
God has certainly demonstrated His sustaining mercies in Meredith’s life. “But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.” (II Corinthians 12:9) We share in your continued joy with this newest step forward, Ron and Fori

That is such great news! I only wish they were more family-friendly there; Courtney maybe you can give them some info on that...but anyway, she's making progress and that's what is important. God bless you all...

It's amazing how similar the way they do things in Italy as in the US. The only difference is in the US visiting hours are 24 hours a day. Just going through all of this in January with Mya all of these feelings come rushing back. Thanks for sharing your family's story on a public blog. I am so thrilled for you and know the joy you are feeling right now with Meredith's progress. My continued thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
