August 15th in Italy is a national holiday, better known in Italy as Ferragosto, so the entire country of Italy is on holiday. We decided we wanted to go hiking somewhere in the mountains, and Prali is where we decided to visit. Prali is a beautiful town in the summer, but it is even more popular in the winter because of the winter sports activities, especially skiing (you may notice the ski lifts in a few of the pictures). It was actually one of the Olympic training sites for the 2006 Winter Olympics. It is also the site of the biggest talc mine in Europe, Scopriminiera. We can't wait visit again in the winter!
