Chateau di Versailles

Our third and last full day in Paris we took the train out to the Chateau di Versailles. I cannot really explain this place myself, it is a magnificant, Grand Royal Palace stretched over acres with unbelievable royal gardens. Please see click on the website about for more details. Both the inside and outside was extravagnat, something not to be missed. It also included Marie Antoinette's own residence, seperate from the main palace, and also in the main palace, the Hall of Mirrors.

It was alot to see of course, we had to pick and choose what we wanted to see inside and out. We figured there was no possible way for us to see all the gardens by foot so in order to at least see all the grounds we were able to rent a golf cart for an hour. That was alot of fun and worth the 30 Euro in my opinion.

One tid bit of information I found interesting, because of the importance of the royal family in France, we learned on our our self guided tour that Marie Antoinette actually gave birth in public for everyone to see, to show to everyone how important this event was to the history of France and it's future. How would you like that ladies?

This post will have pictures of the inside, next I will do the grounds and gardens. These pictures don't really do it justice, so if you ever have a chance to go, do it! Just a few pictures to give you an idea of the inside...
