Annecy, France

A few weekends ago some friends invited us to spend the weekend with them in Annecy. We packed up everyone and headed to Annecy for the weekend. We stayed in a camping village just outside the city. Our accommodations could have been nicer, but we didn't want to pay much since we were not going to be there long. The town itself was very beautiful and we had a wonderful time. Annecy is on a beautiful lake and there are lots of activities there for kids. We walked around the "old town" and just enjoyed the weekend. We had a great time with our friends who also have two kids, girls, one of which is just a bit younger than Nolan. The kids enjoyed each other's company and we enjoyed some good adult conversation with our friends. A french couple we met told us that they call Annecy the "Venice of the Alps" because it has canals running through the town just like you would see in Venice. They were there with their granddaughter and they were kind enough to take us to lunch and show us around the town. We enjoyed each others company and they invited us to come visit them at their house in the near future, we look forward to that!
