March for Babies!

The Lafayette March of Dimes Walk was yesterday morning. We had a wonderful day! The forcast was calling for heavy rain but we were blessed with  beautiful weather at least it was overcast but the rain held off until late afternoon. It was a awesome day! It was so great to see so many people out to support babies. Premature babies, sick babies, babies that didn't survive and future babies. I couldn't help to get a bit teary eyed at one point of the speech as they were talking thinking back to everything we went through with Meredith. It felt to me as they were speaking exactly to us. The march started at 9am and it was 4 miles around the area of the Tippecanoe county fairgrounds. It was great and we cannot wait to do it again next year. We walked with friends, Jill, Roman and Julian. The are friends of ours from Nolan's school. We have spent alot of time together in this past year and Nolan was so happy to have a friend to walk/ride the 4 miles with. We all had a blast. They handed out water, bananas, grapes, granola bars, etc...all along the route. Everyone was so good about feeding and hydrating people and they even had a stop with some hula-hooping(Matt and Nolan got into this). After the walk we came back to the fairgrounds and they had food, face painting, ballons, and they had a jump house for the kids. We stated until the very end. Our friends Jill and Rene own 6 of the Dominos in the area so they are kind enough to donate pizzas every year to all the participants. All the food was delicious. They have fed us alot over the past several months(thanks Rene and Jill), if you haven't tried Domino's lately you should!

We wanted to thank everyone who supported us for this March of Dimes Walk. We raised a total of $550.00(make that $600)!!  It was wonderful! Thank you so much. Pretty darn good for our first year walking and that money goes straight to the March for Dimes. We truly appreciate all your support. I don't really what else to say but thank you and we cannot wait until next year so we can do it all over again! Maybe we can get more of you  to actually join us for the walk next year. That would be wonderful. Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

More walkers along the way...This is Arnett Clinic in the red who I worked with for 7 years until we moved overseas. I still have many friends there and may go back to work there one of these days...When I have so free time! ha ha :)
