March of Dimes 2012

A big THANK YOU to everyone who supported us in the March of Dimes walk this year. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and will be put into good use in the organization. We wouldn't have done it without all your support, thanks again.

The weather was not what we had hoped for this year. It was cold(the high I believe was around 45 degrees), windy, and rainy. We showed up prepared for the worse. Rain jackets, winter hats, umbrellas, waterproof blankets for the stroller, long underwear, etc... It was thundering and raining when we left the house and POURING when we arrived to the fairgrounds where the walk took place. It is rain or shine so we made the best of it. They rain let up a bit by the time the walk started but we all still were wet and cold by the end. We had shoes falling off, screaming kids, cold hands, bodies flying out of strollers-but we survived. It was for a good cause.

We came back to a free meal, a warm building, and live entertainment when we got back after the walk. It wasn't too bad of a deal.

My little girl is going to be 4 years old in 2 short weeks. She is the whole reason we got involved in this organization.  I get a bit choked just before we do the walk every year hearing the speakers talk of all the trials that these babies and families go through while in the NICU after they are born. It is hard to believe it has been 4 years since our family went though that horrible time in the hospital. We still remember it like it was yesterday. It is hard to erase something like that from your mind. Happy Early Birthday to our little Miracle Baby Meredith. We love you!
